<p><span style="font-size:22px;"><strong>Gene Thomas Taylor, age 78, Harrodsburg, widower of Carrie Jane (Cook) Taylor, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born November 25, 1942 in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Junius and Rosie (Rowe) Taylor. He was a graduate of Scott Co. High School, a veteran of the US Army Reserves,&nbsp;studied three years of Criminal Justice through Phoenix University, was a sales agent for Pennsylvania Life, a self-employed farmer, liked to go bowling, fishing, was a Kentucky Colonel and was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Harrodsburg.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;"><strong>Survivors include: one daughter Tammy (Bueford) McDonald of Paris; four sons Thomas C. Taylor and Jamie W. (Kimberly) Taylor both of Harrodsburg, Jason C. (Wendy) Hardy of Versailles and Kendall (Cindy) Hardy of FL;&nbsp; one sister Janet Sue (William) Sparks of Lexington; one brother Terry Lynn (Christina) Taylor of Lexington; seven grandchildren Carrie McDonald of Paris, Della (Adam) Cummings of Lexington, Benjamin McDonald of Lexington, Joseph McDonald of Paris, Brandon Taylor of Harrodsburg, Elizabeth Hardy of Frankfort and Buck McDonald of Cynthiana. Gene was preceded in death by two brothers Fred Taylor and Larry Edward Taylor.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;"><strong>Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am, Friday, September 17, 2021 at Stamping Ground Masonic Cemetery in Stamping Ground, KY by Bro. Donald Fountain with burial to follow.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;"><strong>Visitation will be Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sims Funeral Services in Harrodsburg.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;"><strong>Pallbearers are Brandon Taylor, Benjamin McDonald, Jamie Taylor, Jason Hardy, Joseph McDonald, and Adam Cummings.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;"><strong>Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.simsfuneralservices.com.</strong></span></p>
