Patricia Ann Tittle

Ms. Patricia Ann Tittle, 75 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021.  A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 2:00PM at Glory Harvester Church, 1988 Joe Frank Harris Pkwy NW, Cartersville, GA 30120. The body will lie in state in the church from 1:00PM until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, 319 N. Erwin Street, Cartersville, GA 30120. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.

Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be attending the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend the service, so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted. THE SERVICE WILL NOT BE LIVE-STREAMED.

Pat was born to Mr. Henry Tittle and Mrs. Eva Clemons Tittle in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the oldest of their three children, sisters Ruby Tittle Stewart and Bobbie Jean Tittle Banks. She was proceeded in death by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tittle; her nephew, Ray Banks, and her beloved son, George Oscar
Hendricks III (Naut).
She is survived by her sisters, four nieces, five nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She lived a life full of adventure in Detroit, Michigan, before her mom relocated back to Cartersville, Georgia. While attending Summerhill High School, in Cartersville, she met George Oscar Hendricks Jr., also known as “Nanny”. The two were blessed with her only son George Oscar Hendricks, III on February 2, 1962. She nicknamed him “Naut” after astronaut John Glenn spent five hours in orbit, on the Mercury 6 mission. Pat believed that she had the ability of choosing her family, and later adopted Helen Chatmon as her sister. The two worked together and shared many homes. She shared a special bond with nephew Tony Banks, and treated him as a son. Pat became the godmother of both of Helen’s children Dr. Damian Jina’ Elder and Mr. Cortney Terrell Chatmon. She was a great-grandmother to Cortney’s children Kaleb and Madison, and she loved them
with all her heart... She did however believe in tough love.
She was known for naming others. She nicknamed Damian, “Wezzie,” because she wanted to name her by herself. She stated that she would name her something that everyone would call her, and that no one would remember her real name. She understood the power of words and she was correct. She later named Cortney’s daughter, Madison, and provided name advice to anyone who would listen.
On November 7, 2011, her son Naut went on to meet Jesus, after battling illness, and her heart never fully recovered. She loved hard and showed it through talking on the phone. She enjoyed sharing childhood stories and speaking to those that she loved daily. She talked to her nephew (Tony Banks) and her goddaughter, two to three times a day, and would become worried if they did not call.
She also showed her love for others through her cooking and sewing. She taught herself to sew, as a young girl. Her Home Economics teacher wanted the class to sew scarfs, but to Pat, that was too simple. Pat convinced her uncle to buy her cloth so that she could make a walking suit. The teacher informed Pat that she would not be able to participate in the fashion show because she was not working on the assigned project. However, it did not change her mind... she worked on the walking suit, day and night and had it finished in time for the fashion show. From that day forward, she was known for being a skilled seamstress. When she was first married, everything she cooked had ketchup in it, because she stated that it made things taste better. Not long after, she taught herself how to cook and became the go to person, for recipes. Up until her last moments with us, she was still providing recipes for creamed spinach. Pat lived a very private life, but for those who knew her she was an open book. She believed in God and was baptized at Greater Mount Olive Church as a teenager. She believed in the power of prayer and knew that God was always with her.
She made an impact on everyone that met her, regardless of how long they knew her. Her life and the impact that she had on others, will forever keep her in the hearts of so many.
