Maria Eduarda Raposo, 86, of East Providence, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Luis D. Raposo. Born in Santa Barbara, Sé£o Miguel, Azores. She was a daughter of the late Joé£o and Maria do Carmo (Teixeira) Melo.

Mrs. Raposo worked in housekeeping for Bank of America until she retired. She was a faithful communicant of St. Martha's Church. Mrs. Raposo was a hard worker who always put others first. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved being surrounded by her family. Her love will be missed and remembered by all.

She leaves six children, Maria-Carmen DaCosta and her husband Olimpio of Rumford, Luis F. Raposo of Chalfont, PA, Maria José Raposo-DaSilva and her husband Antonio of Rehoboth, John Raposo and his wife Suzanna of Swansea, Anibal Raposo and his wife Patricia Gaspar of East Providence, Maria Elvira Fonseca and her husband Nuno of Rehoboth, 14 grandchildren, Nicholas DaSilva and wife Stephanie, Alyssa DaSilva, Olivia DaSilva, Isabella Raposo, Victoria Raposo, Marcus Raposo, Zachary DaCosta, Elijah DaCosta, Luca Raposo, Catarina Raposo, Mia Fonseca, Elyana Fonseca, Aiden Raposo, Siena Raposo and one brother, John Melo of Canada.

She was the mother of the late, Paulo Jorge Raposo, the grandmother of the late Adam DaCosta, the sister of the late Teresa Carreiro, Irena Melo, and Guilhermo Melo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 11 AM in St. Martha's Church, 2595 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to St. Martha's Church.
