Allen J. " Brother" Silva, 69, of East Providence passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019. He was the husband of Cheryl (Mitchell) Silva.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph Basiglio and Lucy Silva. Allen worked as a machinist before retiring. He enjoyed spending time by the ocean, golfing and playing keno.

Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Katie Silva of East Providence, two sons, Allen J. Silva, Jr. of East Providence and James Tavares and his husband Allen of East Providence, four grandchildren, Jenna Monteiro, Riley, David and Cameron Caulder, a sister, JoeAnn Johnson of Medford, Oregon. He was the father of the late Jennifer Silva.

His funeral and visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019 from 10AM - 12PM with a service at 12 noon in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.
