Chad Gerard Rispone Obituary

Sherry Renee (Godso) Rispone, passed away on Thursday, August 12th, 2021, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Sherry unexpectedly passed due to complications caused by COVID-19.

Sherry, one of four daughters of Jerry and Lena Godso, was born on June 3, 1976, in Baton Rouge and resided in Zachary. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Sherry loved the Lord with all her heart, enjoyed spending time with family, and had a sense of humor that always made us laugh. She was very proud of her daughters and loved her dog, Chloe. Her contagious laugh and sharp wit could fill a room bringing joy to everyone in her presence. She was loved and will be missed by many.

Chad Gerard Rispone passed away on Thursday, September 9th, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana. After a month-long battle with COVID-19, Chad succumbed to complications caused by the virus. Chad and Sherry, devoted spouses of nearly twenty-four years, passed away four weeks apart and are now together for eternity in Heaven. Chad, the middle son of Robert “Bob” Rispone and Dolores Ann Rispone, was born on January 16, 1973, in Baton Rouge and resided in Zachary. His career in the electrical industry began in 1999 with ISC Constructors, over a long career with ISC he trained to become a Journeyman Electrician and served many years in supervision. He was a man of strong Christian faith, an avid LSU football fan, and enjoyed watching movies with close friends. However, his greatest passion was spending time with his wife and daughters, whom he treasured deeply. Chad will always be remembered for his gentle heart, kindness, and patience with others. These character traits lead him to be a remarkable husband, father, son, brother, and mentor to those who worked alongside him.

Sherry is survived by her two daughters Reagan Taylor and Kennedy Rose Rispone; father Gerald “Jerry” Godso and mother Lena Godso; sister Wendy Tullier, sister Randi Collier and husband Richard, and sister Winter Phelps and husband Keith; nieces and nephews Paige Dauzat, Ryan and Darian Collier, Zachary, Jackson, and Autumn Phelps; great nephew and nieces Aiden, Chandler and Francine Dauzat; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is proceeded in death by her grandparents Wallace and Lena Easley, as well as Alfred and Pearl Godso.

Chad is survived by his daughters, Reagan Taylor and Kennedy Rose Rispone; father Robert “Bob” Rispone and stepmother Pat Rispone of Owensville, Indiana; mother Dolores Ann Rispone of Baton Rouge; brother Mario Rene Rispone and wife Hope of Prairieville; nephew and nieces Jacob Robert, Angelina Marie and Samantha Grace Rispone.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Anthony “Tony” Rispone, grandmother Marie Gulino Rispone, grandmother Ofelia Granado Esquivel, brother Robert Joseph Rispone and wife Sherry Renee Rispone.

A private service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Pastor Paul Downing of Fellowship Church.  Services will be directly followed by burial at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Although it will be difficult for those of us left behind, we will forever cherish the memories made and know we will be reunited again someday in Heaven.
