Michael Hughes Obituary

Michael Hughes, 70, formerly of Commack Road passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Waterview Villa. He was the husband of the late Teresa A. (Wilcox) Hughes. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Adrian and Muriel (Pollitt) Hughes. Mike worked for 30 years in the Department of Administration as a technology trainer for the State of Rhode Island. He was also a member of the Top of the Hill gang, a beloved group of friends.He leaves one daughter, Katherine T. Hughes-Pucci and her husband Joseph of Cranston and one son, Patrick M. Hughes and his wife Amanda of Ware, Ma. He also leaves one goldendoodle grandson, Napa and a terrier mutt grandson, Scruffy both adored. His cat, Dottie was merely tolerated, if not occasionally liked. He was the twin brother of the late Marybeth Borden. Mike’s mantra was taken from the great Monty Python and his hope for us all is to “Always look on the bright side of life.” His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martha's Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 3-7.
