Elaine A. Layton, 76, of Riverside passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at her home. She was the wife of the late William W. Layton.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Rose (Gage) Dundon. Elaine worked in the Fiscal Department at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Providence before she retired in 1999. She was a faithful communicant of St. Brendan's Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a former member of the choir and was very active in many organizations within the parish. Elaine was a member of the Right to Life and was always advocating for the homeless and those less fortunate.

She leaves two daughters, Christine Morin of Florida and Shannon Ellis of Riverside, four grandchildren, Sydney Vierra of Florida, Cheyenne Ellis of Riverside, Kelsey Morin of Florida and Braedon Ellis of Riverside, two great grandchildren, Amelia and Avery, one sister, Constance Fayan of Barrington, two brothers, James Dundon of Costa Rica, Michael Dundon of Hawaii, her cousin David Allsworth of Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late William W. Layton and sister of the late Rose Mary Thayer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 9:00 AM in St. Brendan's Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of Rhode Island or St. Brendan Parish would be appreciated.
