Janice D. Peters, 82, of Swansea passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at St. Anne's Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Alfonse and Alicia (Camara) Costa. Janice was a hairdresser at the former Outlet Department Store in downtown Providence for 10 years, then self employed for 20 years. She had a passion for dancing and was a dance instructor at the Fred Astaire School of Dance in Rhode Island and New York. Janice was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and was a devoted Christian who enjoyed spreading Gods word and love to others. Above everything else, her family was her biggest joy. She was the devoted mother of Lisa Miller of East Providence, Susan Peters of Swansea and Dana Peters of East Providence, loving grandmother of Jaime Miller, Stephanie Parsons, Jodi Peters, Garrett Peters and Ben DiLeonardo, loving great grandmother of Kayla Miller, Jaylee Miller, Gavin Peters, Maddox Peters and Addison Dexter and dear sister of Maureen Santangelo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
