Marilyn Oden Maddux Obituary

Marilyn Oden Maddux of Houston, Texas passed away on September 7, 2021 was born to William & Lee Opal Oden on November 24, 1938 in Leona, Texas. She graduated from Centerville High School, where she met her soul mate Robert “Bo Mac” when they started dating during the 4 years of high school, after that they married in 1956. She was a quiet person and kept a smile on her face for the joys of life. Marilyn loved crafting, could sew and make just about anything. Her biggest passion, after Bo Mac, was her grandkids, she was never too busy to babysit or have them come over to make memories, some of their favorites are, they could do pretty much whatever they wanted at grandma’s house, setting up the table in the backyard so they could paint or craft, she would sit outside with us and let us swing for as long as we wanted, she was an avid reader and she keep a row of the kids’ books with her books so she could read to them, she had a special “kids table” for the grandkids when they came over and ate at her house, sitting in the big comfy chair with her and watching Disney movies, she always had kool-aid popsicles made for us, big toy box behind her chair filled with their toys, the best part was Grandma’s heart was bigger and sweeter than words could ever express, she always knew how to make the kids smile and feel loved. Marilyn is proceeded in death by her son, Robert “Bobby” Maddux. She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bo Mac) Maddux of 65 years; children, Mike Maddux and his wife Mashell, Steve Maddux and his wife Tammy, Dennis Maddux and his Wife Sharie, Rebecca Maddux, Karen Thomas Mullins and her husband Larry; grandchildren, Jennifer Weiss and her husband Josh, Steven Michael Maddux, Ashley Maddux, Robert Maddux, Rachel Maddux, Robyn Maddux, Raelee Maddux, Ethan Mullin, Abigail Mullins; great-grandchildren, Corbin and Calissa.
