Carl Steward Campbell HICKORY GROVE Mr. Carl Steward Campbell, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 29, 2012. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Hickory Grove Church of God with the memorial service following visitation at 3 p.m. A native of Hickory Grove, SC, Carl was the devoted son of E.B. and Beulah Harris Campbell. Carl received his Undergraduate and Masters degrees from Winthrop University. He was employed formerly with Catawba Community Mental Health Center for several years. He dedicated his life to counseling children and providing mental health services to children, adolescents and their families. Carl had a passion for music and theatre and shared his talented gifts in various capacities with his beloved Chester Little Theatre. He served as the current President on the Board of Directors, directed and performed in many of the theatres plays over the years. Carl loved his life and it was reflected in his work on stage and off. Pete, as he was often called, was blessed with a multitude of family and friends whom he truly loved. He was a dedicated Christian who lived his life to the fullest serving his Lord and Savior and always helping others in need. He will truly be missed by all that knew him in this world. He is survived by his parents E.B and Beulah Harris Campbell of Hickory Grove, brother, Tony Campbell and wife, Pam of York, nephew, Ashley Campbell and wife Jennifer of Sharon, niece, Tara Lumpkin and husband Willie and their children, Skylar and Zaryona of York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chester Little Theatre, 100 Cestrain Drive, Chester, SC 29706. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.brattonfunrealhome.com.
