<p>Evelyn Fay Fields Easler Bolick Gilstrap, age 74, went peacefully to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, September 13th, 2021.</p> <p>If you knew Evelyn, you knew she was generous with her wisdom, rarely at a loss of words and loved to laugh.&nbsp; Evelyn never let her blindness slow her down and she often spent her time reading her braille books and magazines, listening to books on tapes, keeping up with her children, grandchildren, and close friends, and she was always knitting to make gifts for family and friends.&nbsp; She was an avid scrabble player and looked forward to playing with her grandchildren. &nbsp;Her family was her pride and joy!&nbsp; Evelyn was a faithful member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC, past member of the National Federation of the Blind and the National Federation of the Blind of Spartanburg where she held the office of treasurer for over 7 years.&nbsp; She often attended the North Carolina Association Workers for the Blind in Raleigh, NC with her husband Tim.&nbsp; This trip was something they both looked forward to each year as they loved to ride the train from Spartanburg, SC to Raleigh, NC.&nbsp;</p> <p>Evelyn was born on June 5, 1947 in Anderson, SC to the late Henry Fields and Garrissie Dutton Fields Gault.&nbsp; She is proceeded in death by her parents, step-father Ray Gault, husbands Albert Easler and Lester Bolick, and first-born son, Melvin Joseph (Joey) Easler.&nbsp; Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 9 &frac12; years Timothy Gilstrap of Spartanburg, SC; sons Eric Easler of Spartanburg, SC, George (Misty) Easler of Mt. Airy, NC, Robert (Kathy) Bolick of Spartanburg, SC and Matthew (Melody) Bolick of Spartanburg SC; grandchildren Kristen Easler, Jordan Easler, Devin Henson, Christopher Easler, Benjamin Bolick, Adah Easler, Isaiah Easler, Emma Bolick, Robert Bolick, Elijah Bolick, Cassilyn Bolick, Ethan Easler, Wilson Bolick, Mary Ruth Easler, and Wesley Bolick; step-son Luke Bolick; sister Linda McGill and her beloved dog, Jeb.&nbsp;</p> <p>The family asks that you continue to honor Evelyn by loving graciously, living earnestly, and forgiving easily.&nbsp; E.L. Collins Funeral Home, LLC has been entrusted with the arrangements.&nbsp; Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11 am. The family that all attendees socially distance in the sanctuary.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Cedar Springs Baptist Church, 140 Cedar Springs Place, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or to the family at 399 Stone Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29302.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

Evelyn Fay Fields Easler Bolick Gilstrap, age 74, went peacefully to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, September 13th, 2021.
