Donna Ann Marie Edwards was a blessing. She is survived by her husband, Trevor Cummings and her three children, Sharleena, Danielle and Rae; seven grandkids. She also leaves behind nine siblings in mourning: Jennifer, Rose “Charmaine”, Carleen, Andrew, Steve, Sharika, Tashawina, Michael and Shaqeal. Donna was an aunt, grand-aunt, and cousin to many-many-many. She is joining her many family members and friends in heaven including her youngest child, Trayneiasha known to many as “Neiasha.” Growing up with her two eldest sisters, Charmaine and Carleen, a bond which was never broken was created. In Jamaica Donna, Charmaine and Carleen were known as taxis simply because as three they would go anywhere and everywhere together without fear. If one was being scolded by a grade-school teacher and the others heard about it, you’d better know that the teacher would have to deal with all three. This was Donna throughout her lifetime; she was protective of all her family members not just her two eldest sisters individually. At a young age the three sisters migrated to Canada to live with their father, Michael. Six years later, they moved back to Jamaica. They spent another year in Jamaica with Auntie Thelma before migrating to Miami, FL where Donna blossomed. She had a love for hair and how it made women and men elevate in beauty. If you would’ve sat in Donna’s chair, you would’ve came-up a notch or two. In her twenties, she discovered a new kind of love, a romantic love...Conrad. He gave her a different outlook on life that she never knew existed. Through Conrad she learned to speak her truth, live life in the present, continue reaching for whatever she wanted, and not to allow the voice of your fears to be louder than the other voices in your head. Each person in her life whether daughter, son, sister, brother, second cousin, aunt or etcetera were all her number one’s. Anyone in the family who spoke to her one on one knew that in that moment they were number one in Donna’s heart. She had an open non-judgmental heart. This showed with the multitude of people that loved with her throughout the years when they were going through a refresh period. To truly know Donna is to have lived with her if even if only for one week. During this time, you saw the mother, the provider, the type of survivor that God so eloquently showcases throughout the bible. She met Trevor Cummings on October 19, 2007 and they married on July 19, 2010. Trevor became the sparkle in her later years. He emitted in her energy and hope which hadn’t existed for quite some time. Their conversations earlier on in their relationship was lengthy and inviting. Now—Donna was in eternal bliss with Trevor in this new chapter in their lives. Aside from living for family she lived for the next party. Donna seeked to be around laughter, music, positive vibes; truly she was all of that to many people. She was a mother, a wife, a daddy’s girl, a child of God. Until we meet again. 🖤 💚 💛
