Janette Ann Buffington, age 80, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. She was born December 11, 1940 in Laysmith, Wisconsin to Stanley and Isabelle Grygny. She was the oldest of 5 children.

Jan married Mervin L. Buffington on August 9, 1958 and is survived by her loving husband of 63 years.

Some of Jan's passions were gardening, continuing education, going to the farmers market and taking trips to places like China where during these trips she would gather gifts for her many friends and family.

Jan worked at Centralia’s Good Health Store where she made friends with most everyone who entered the doors. Her life was a constant passion of learning and growing in knowledge to help others become healthy. She was known as the little white-haired lady and was sought out by many who asked questions specific to their health. She loved to gain knowledge so much that she would often fall to sleep with her headphones on listening to her audio books. Her generous life, loving heart and funny character will be always remembered and missed.

Jan was blessed and loved by numerous Grandchildren/Great Grandchildren they were the pride of her life. All of them referred to her as Gramma’ B or Great Gramma’ B! The grandchildren are Jacob & Annalisa Waunch (parents of 3), Jason & Olya Buffington, Chase & Camille Buffington (parents of 2), Amber & Josh Kohler (parents of 3), and Chelsey Buffington.

She was loved by numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends and community.

Survivors include husband Mervin Buffington of Centralia, WA, sons Michael Buffington, Rod (Sheri) Buffington; daughter Kimberly (Mark) Waunch; sisters Kathy Quick of Vancouver, WA, Bonnie (Dennis) of Hayen Lake, ID, and Marcine Wood of Spokane, WA.

She was preceeded in death by her youngest son Christopher Buffington in 2018 and brother Stan Grygny in 1997.

                                      Announcement of the Memorial Service is as follows:

Service will be on, Friday, October 1st 2021 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Chehalis, WA at 11:00 am., followed by an internment at Claquato Cemetery, 142 Stearns Rd., Chehalis, WA., followed by a  luncheon at the Chehalis Virgil R. Lee Community Building, 1225 SW Williams Ave., Chehalis near Penny Park for all Family and Friends.
