Janet Williams Obituary

My life story....... It all began March 31, 1960 when I was born to my loving parents, Lorene and John Williams. I was the youngest of nine siblings, and I didn't shy away from telling them, "I get what I want!" My mother impacted my life with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I grew up attending church with my family at St. Paul's Baptist Church, and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. L.E. Thompson at Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. Over time, I started to attend Victory Baptist Church, led by Rev. G.A. Williams, where my sisters and I served as hostesses. I eventually returned to my roots and re-dedicated myself to Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. I have so many good memories of my childhood. I attended Kennedy Elementary School, Gompers Junior High, and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School - "The Hive" in 1978. Fresh out of high school I had several jobs. One day, I just decided "I'm going to go into the medical field," so, I worked at Physicians and Surgeons Hospital for many years. Y'all remember that hospital, right? I had seen a little bit of everything at that hospital; that was a great learning experience. I later decided to take my show on the road, and started working for Sharp Rees-Stealy, and this is where I hung my hat and retired. In the arms of Jesus Christ, my life here on earth has ended and I am now in preparation for my journey into Heaven. My mission there is in heaven, not on this earth... it has been a long journey... that has involved ups and downs, smiles, and frowns. Life is not perfect, but it is worth it. I was able to share my life with my one and only daughter, Sheena Williams, my handsome grandson, Kenyon Embry; guess what?... God bless me with two bonus grandsons, Kenyon's little brothers Keyontae and King Embry; I have the best grandchildren ever. On Monday, September 6, 2021, I was surrounded by family as I transitioned from this earth to be with my heavenly father. I was reunited with my mother Lorene Bell; father John Williams; step-father Horace Bell; sisters Addie Ealy and Oveita Williamson; as well as aunts; uncles and cousins. I leave on this earth my beautiful daughter Sheena Williams; grandson Kenyon Embry; big brother Prince "Pete" Fowler; big sisters Anne "Meryl" Fowler; Barbara (Samuel) Stone; Diane (Levert) Hayes; Debra Williams and Sheila Williams; aunt Emma Wilson; nephews; nieces; cousins and friends. I want you all to know I am ok....this is God's plan. I know you will always cherish my memories... I love you all!
