Nancy Douglass Horseheads, NY Passed away on Thursday evening , September 9, 2021 at the age of 90. Nancy was born March 7, 1931, a daughter of the late Dennis and Ruth Logue Canty. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Douglass Sr.; brothers Jerry, John, and Donald Canty and by her sisters Vivian Haring, Eleanor Jankowski and Patricia Curran. She is survived by her loving sons, Hugh Douglass, Joel Douglass, and William Douglass; grandchildren Jesse Douglass, Hillary Hackett and Ashley Hackett; sister, Shirley Bettinger and several nieces, nephews and cousins and extended family members. Nancy graduated from Arnot Ogden Nursing School in 1952 and worked as a Registered Nurse there and at Bethany Manor. She retired from the Arnot in 2012. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Living Word Evangelical Free Church, 1119 Lake St., Elmira, NY, on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 4PM-6PM with Memorial Services to follow. Nancy will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery with her husband at the convenience of the family.
