Carol Ann Gardner

Mrs. Carol Gardner age 85 of Decatur went home to be with the Lord September 13, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. She was a faithful and dedicated Christian and enjoyed helping people who were dealing with grief. She attended Highland Elementary School and Bass High School where she met her future husband, Bob in 9th grade algebra. She later earned an Associate’s Degree from Georgia Perimeter College. She was an administrative assistant at H.M. Patterson and Sons Funeral Home, Spring Hill for many years, then served as secretary to the vice president at Lanier Worldwide. Mrs. Gardner is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert A. Gardner; son, Howard Gardner; daughter and son in law, Margaret and Doc Palmer; granddaughters, Abby and Brittany Palmer. A funeral service will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 2-4 PM at the funeral home. Although Carol loved flowers, she loved children even more. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Carol’s memory. A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
