Sandra L. Newman, 75, wife of Leonard E. Newman, Sr., died Saturday, September 11, 2021, at her home. Born September 3, 1946, in Chester, she was a daughter of the late Robert Taylor and the late Helen Thompson Taylor Knotts. She was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church. She was employed as a registered nurse having worked at Tuomey Hospital and later as a home health nurse. She was a member of the MS Society. Survivors include her husband of 54 years; two children, Jennifer Newman Thames of Roanoke, VA and Len Newman (Lori) of Pickens; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sherry Shields (Gene) of Charleston and Debbie Kleinknecht (Gary) of WA. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Harold VanBuren “Van” Thames, Jr. A family graveside will be held in the Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
