Teresa Kay DeVore

<p>Teresa Kay Owen DeVore, 63, of Brevard, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 11, 2021.&nbsp; She was born February 24, 1958 to Hurshel and Leona Carter Owen of Brevard, NC.&nbsp; She was the younger sister of Phyllis Owen Robinson.</p> <p>In 1975, she met the love of her life, James Edwin DeVore.&nbsp; They were married December 23, 1976 and welcomed a son, Jeremy in 1978 and a son, Daniel in 1982.</p> <p>Teresa worked for Duke Energy for 36 years and retired with her husband James in 2016.&nbsp; They moved back to Brevard from Mt. Holly where they both grew up.&nbsp; Teresa was a talented seamstress and loved doing embroidery and quilting for her friends and family.&nbsp; She had a beautiful singing voice and grew up singing at the Church of God in Brevard for many years.&nbsp; She even recorded an album of gospel songs with her mother and sister.</p> <p>What really made her life complete was when she became a Grammy.&nbsp; She loved her grandchildren Aidan, Libby, Carlie, and Everett &ldquo;a bushel and a peck.&rdquo;&nbsp; She was happiest when entire family was all together.&nbsp; She cherished every moment together.&nbsp; When you called her Teresa, Aunt T, Momma, or Grammy, she was always known for her bright smiles, kind words, and warm hugs.&nbsp; She brought a loving light to this world and reflected the love of Jesus in her every word and action.</p> <p>We will forever remember your love and keep you alive in our hearts.</p> <p>She is survived by her father, Hurshel Owen, her husband James E. DeVore, her son Jeremy DeVore and wife Wendy of Topsham, ME, her son Daniel DeVore and wife Courtney of Iron Station, NC, and her beloved grandchildren Aidan, Libby, Carlie, and Everett.&nbsp; She was pre-deceased by her mother, Leona Owen.</p> <p>No services are planned at this time.</p>
