Chloe Evangeline Bryant, age 94, of Independence, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Labette Health in Parsons, KS. Celebration of life and interment will be Thursday, September 23, 2021, 10:00 am @ Peers-Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, Tulare, California. Graveside service to follow at Tulare District Cemetery on Kern Avenue, Tulare, California.. Memorial contributions on behalf of the family may be sent to Zach Webb Family Funeral Service, 1475 S. 10th, Independence, KS 67301. Chloe Evangeline Bryant was born August 16, 1927 in Lost Springs, Kansas, to Clarence and Ruth Girton. She was the twelfth of thirteen children. She is survived by her brother Omar Girton of Fresno, California. In 1929 the family migrated to the fertile farmlands of central California where they made their home for many years. Chloe attended schools in the Tulare area. In 1946 she met Bert Bryant and they soon were married. Chloe gave birth to three boys, Charles Dale Bryant of Independence, Kansas, Delbert Bryant of Tulare, California, and Glen Bryant of Visalia, California. She is also survived by her stepson Edward Bryant of Arizona. Chloe was a quiet, unassuming person who loved the Lord and loved her family. She was an excellent role model of what it means to be a godly woman. She kept an orderly home and was a talented cook. She loved her daughters-in-law. Chloe could also be funny and quite clever when she wanted. She returned to Kansas in her final earthly years, living in Independence and Cherryvale. She entered her heavenly rest September 11, 2021 at age 94. Chloe held twelve grandchildren in her arms and has numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Hers was a life well lived. The family of Chloe Bryant has entrusted the arrangement of the services to Zach and Dee Webb of locally-owned Zach Webb Family Funeral Service of Independence.
