Bervin Leon Laurent Obituary

Bervin Laurent, a loving husband, faithful son, peacemaker, gentle soul and friend to all passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021.  Bervin was born on June 24, 1932, in Centerpoint, Arkansas to Obie Laurent and Nola Gregory Laurent. He served in the Air Force, and retired from Lockheed Martin and spent the last 30 years in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. He loved bowling, roller derby, golf, softball, hunting, baking his famous coconut cakes, spending time playing dominoes and canasta with family and friends.


Bervin is survived and remembered by two brothers, Herman and Arnold. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, 4 brothers; Eugene, Harold, Howard and a baby boy; and a sister; Laverne Davis. Bervin will be greatly missed by his numerous nephews, nieces, friends and family.

Visitation will be from 6PM to 8 PM on Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro, Arkansas (870) 285-2233. The Memorial Service to follow on Saturday, the 18th, at the Murfreesboro First Christian Church at 1:00 PM with burial following at the College Hills Cemetery.  Pall bearers will be David  Laurent, Mike Ellis, Jack Laurent, Logan Wright, Connor Wright and Matthew Laurent.  The Family requests donations to the Back Pack program, First Christian Church, 716 N Washington, Murfreesboro, AR 71958 in Bervin’s name in lieu of flowers.
