<p>James F. Ackerman, age 61, of Jacobus, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at his residence.</p> <p>Born November 26, 1959 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Edgar L. and E. Lorraine (Cardene) Ackerman.&nbsp; He was a 1977 graduate of Williamsport Area High School, and had worked as a meat manager for Wegman&rsquo;s for more than 25 years.&nbsp; He was an avid marksman, and a member of the National Rifle Association.&nbsp; He also enjoyed the outdoors, animals, and reading, especially history. His greatest loves were his family and friends.</p> <p>Mr. Ackerman is survived by two daughters, Emily M. Ackerman, of Manheim and Laura C. Ackerman, of Williamsport; two sons, Jonathan E. Ackerman, of Palmyra and Andrew C. Ackerman, of Jacobus; five grandchildren; a sister, Deacon Nancy J. Ackerman, of Glendale, California; and a brother, Bruce R. (Bettie) Ackerman, of South Carolina.</p> <p>Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Saint Paul&rsquo;s Lutheran Church, 25 West Springettsbury Ave, with The Reverend Stanley Reep, officiating. A reception with the family will immediately follow.&nbsp; Burial will be private.&nbsp; Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George, York, is in charge of arrangements.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Paul&rsquo;s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 25 West Springettsbury Avenue, York PA 17403 or California Lutheran Homes Foundation, 800 Brand Boulevard, 19th Floor, Glendale, CA 91203.</p>
