Fred Varney Sr., 74, of Williamson, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at his home.  Born August 22, 1947 at Hardy, KY, he was the son of the late James Thomas Varney and Mirty Fields Coleman. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Campanella, a step-son, Moses Dean Stanley, 2 sisters, Karen and Geraldine, and 3 brothers, Robert, Willis, and Prentice. 

Fred was a retired factory worker from ABC in Indiana and was a member of the Elk Creek Pentecostal Lighthouse. 

Survivors include his wife, Weltha Diane (Runyon) Varney of Williamson, WV, 2 daughters, Teresa Varney of Williamson, WV and Tessa (Mike) Petrosky of Huntington, WV, 3 sons, James Varney of Williamson, WV, Fred Varney Jr. of Williamson, WV, and Billy Joe (Crystal) Varney of Eminence, KY, a step-son, William Stanley of Ohio, 1 brother, Lloyd Wallen of Thacker, WV, 2 sisters, Christine Kiester of Minerva, OH and Shelby Jean Gnat of Hickory, NC, his grandchildren, Eric, Dorion, Isaac, Haley, Gezaya, Mary Jane, and Julian, his great-grandchildren, Christian, Zachery, Alex, Xavier, Keaton, and Kylin.  Also surviving is a host of friends. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Faith Mission Church at McCarr, KY with Pastor Jimmy Fields officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Tuesday and Wednesday at the church with services nightly at 7:00 pm.

In accordance to CDC guidelines regarding COVID19, masks are encouraged to be worn.
