James L. Walker

Age 86 of Osnaburg Township passed away Monday September 13, 2021, in Altercare of Louisville. He was born February 17, 1935, in Canton to the late H. Lee and Pauline Grace (Thelen) Walker. Jim was the former owner/operator of W.A. Walker and Son Meat Market and Hillside Farm. He was a former member of the Stark County Farm Bureau, Julliard Lodge #460 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton and Nazir Grotto Tadmor Shrine. He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Walker; one sister, Phyllis Nelson. Jim is survived by one daughter, Christine (Duane) Miller; one son, James L. Jr. (Diane) Walker; five grandchildren, Kevin (Hollie) Richardson, Katelyn (Daniel) Pontius, Michael Walker, Emily (Joshua) Smith and Megan Walker; five great-grandchildren, Carolyn and Colton Richardson, Dean Walker, Luke Pontius and Harper Smith; one brother, Walter (Doris) Walker. Funeral services will be Thursday September 16, 2021, at 2:00pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Louisville. Friends and family will be received one hour before services on Thursday (1-2pm). The family requests that facial coverings and social distancing be observed.
