Dorothy Azniv Masoian of Cranston, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021.

She is survived by her loving husband Stephen, with whom she was married to for 60 years. She was so happy to have had her spouse by her side for all those years.

Born and raised in Providence, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Movses and Azniv (Nahigian) Janigian.  She was the beloved mother of Stephanie and Jeffrey and his wife Julie. Her pride and joy were her three granddaughters Taline, Nyree and Karina Masoian whom she loved dearly and was so proud; and sister of the late Robert Janigian (Louise).

Dorothy attended the Providence public schools and was a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School. She was Chief Clerk for the City of Cranston Fire Department for more than 34 years.

Dorothy was very proud of her Armenian heritage and had enjoyed participating in various cultural events of the Armenian community.

She was a devoted and faithful parishioner of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church. She was a member of the Woman’s Guild and Cultural Committee; and an active member of the Husenig Foundation.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Sts. Sahag and Mesrob Church on Wednesday, September 15th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. (MASKS REQUIRED) Burial will be at North Burial Ground, Providence.
