<p>(Ken Southerland) Jack Kenneth Southerland, 86, husband of the late Robbie Jo Hackett Southerland, of Belton, S.C., died Thursday, September 9, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. </p><p><br></p><p>Born in Greenville, S.C. on May 12, 1935, he was the son of the late Jack and Letha Southerland. </p><p><br></p><p>Ken was in the last graduating class of Williamston High School, (Class of 1953), and was a graduate of Forrest College with a degree in Bookkeeping and Accounting. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier. </p><p><br></p><p>He was a professional drummer and played in a jazz band for over 30 years. </p><p><br></p><p>He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and played in the U.S.A.F. Jazz Band. </p><p><br></p><p>Ken was an active member of Dorchester Baptist Church in Belton where he served as a Deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and usher. </p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his children, Kathy Cooper (Tim), Mark Southerland (Donna), 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Robbie Jo Hackett Southerland, his daughter, Faye Elgin and his son, John Tilley. </p><p><br></p><p>A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 2:00pm in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation &amp; Funeral Center 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd. Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev.
