Lucas Meadows, Jr. 89 of Eleanor Ave. Scottdale, passed away peacefully in his Family’s embrace, Sunday morning, September 12, 2021 in the comfort of his home.

He was born February 29, 1932 in Connellsville, the son of the late Lucas and Nettie Delilah Green Meadows.

Lucas was a longtime and faithful member of Rocky Mountain Baptist Church, Connellsville.

He was a graduate of Connellsville High School Class of 1950 and was employed as a Foreman with U.S. Steel of Clairton Works with 40 years of service.

Lucas was a member of the American Legion Post 762 of Trotter, Pa. and was a Proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War with the Trans Army Reg-Infantry, where he was promoted to SGT in 1954. During his service, he was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star and the United Nations Service medal for Presidential Unit Citation.

Lucas was avid Hunter and Fisherman for years. Lucas and his wife Lorraine never missed a Sunday Service. He was always a Gentleman and a Gentle Man who had such a love for his family and above all he loved his Lord.

Lucas is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, His loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Lorraine P. Meadows, whom he married Jan. 12, 1953

His Siblings:

James R. Meadows of Buffalo, NY

Robert Meadows and wife Jacqueline of Richmond, VA.

Dorothy Meadows of Connellsville

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Lucas was preceded in death by:

Son, Scott E. Price, whom they raised (May 29, 2009)

Five Sisters: Mary Elizabeth Graves, Ruth Floyd, Anna Mae Meade, Patricia Haith and Frances Polk

His Brother: Clarence Meadows

Family and friends are cordially invited to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc., 417 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, Friday from 2PM – 8PM.

His Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11AM in Rocky Mountain Baptist Church, Connellsville with his Pastor, Rev. Nathaniel Milton, Officiating.

Those who wish to attend Lucas’ Funeral Service, Saturday, are kindly asked to go directly to Rocky Mountain Baptist Church, 110 Poplar St. Connellsville.

Committal Services and Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.

The Scottdale Everson Veterans Association Honor Guard will conduct a Military Service, Friday evening at 6:30 PM at the Funeral Home.
