Julia Janae Pittman April 6, 1974 – September 10, 2021 Eupora, Mississippi Julia Janae Pittman, aged 47, passed away surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Eupora, Mississippi on September 10, 2021. She was the wife of Charlie Pittman and daughter of Kathy Perrigan and the late Roy Sherrill. Janae, better known to her friends as J. J., graduated from Eupora High School and worked at the Webster County Sheriff’s department as a dispatcher. She realized that she wanted to dedicate her life to law enforcement. While rearing four children, she attended Mississippi Law Enforcement Academy and became a deputy for Webster County. She worked with the Webster County Sheriff’s Department for twenty years. Janae was the first female deputy in Webster County. She was a caring, fun person who loved and supported her family in every way. She had many friends in the law enforcement field and her community. She is survived by her mother, Kathy (Mike) Perrigan of Eupora, Mississippi; her husband, Charlie Pittman of Eupora, Mississippi; her son, Dalton (Alison) Turner of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; three daughters, Jordan Steadman of Forest, Mississippi, Allie (Jacob) Hughey of Smithville, Mississippi; and Annslie (Alex) Owens of Columbus, Mississippi; a sister, Mary Henry of Benton Harbor, Michigan; two brothers, Blake (Jessica) Sherrill of Brandon, Mississippi and Troy Henry of Columbus, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Braden Steadman, Brewer Hughey, Clayton Hughey, and Wesson Owens. She is preceded in death by her father Roy Sherrill and two brothers, Steve Henry and Randy Henry. Funeral services for Janae Pittman will be at 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery in Webster County. Presiding over the service will be Brother Brad Latham. Pallbearers include Tanner Pritchard, Dillon Cates, Jason White, Brad Latham, Casey Henderson, and Justin Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Robinson, Andy McCants, Jerry Clark, Jeff Mann, and Bobby Jackson.
