She was born on Thursday, August 13, 1931 in the family home in Buckatunna to James Elmo Howse and Velma Grace Howse.</em></strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong><em>Betty Lou, as she was affectionately known to her family, was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Edmond; father, James Elmo Howse; mother, Velma Grace Howse; stepmother, Pansy Emmie Howse; three brothers, J. W. Howse, Malcolm Paul Howse, Daniel Henry Howse; three sisters, Eulalee Howse Jones, Laura Mae Howse Mashburn, Mary Alice Howse Mashburn.</em></strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong><em>Betty Lou is survived by her son, James Ellis Howse; granddaughter, Rachel Howse Binnington; two great grandchildren, Helena and Alexander Binnington; grandson, Jay Howse; great grandson Cash Howse; two sisters, Lola Grace Campbell, Sarah McCaffrey (Pat); and a large family of nieces and nephews.&nbsp;</em></strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong><em>She had a deep love for Wayne County and the Chickasawhay River. Making homemade jellies and canning any kind of vegetable was her hobby.&nbsp;Baking cookies for family was a way of showing her love and affection for them.&nbsp; She loved to play the organ and piano and played occasionally for the nursing home in Waynesboro where she had resided for the past three years.&nbsp;</em></strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong><em>A Memorial Graveside Service for Mrs. Betty Lou will be held at Winchester Cemetery, Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 10:30 A.M.&nbsp; The service will be officiated by Pastor Jesse Long of Buckatunna Methodist Church.</em></strong></span></span></p>

Betty Lou, as she was affectionately known to her family, was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Edmond; father, James Elmo Howse; mother, Velma Grace Howse; stepmother, Pansy Emmie Howse; three brothers, J.
