<p>96, formerly of Providence, moving to Narragansett in 1993, passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2021.&nbsp; He was the husband of the late Rita (Cioni) Daly for seventy years.</p> <p>Born in Holyoke, MA, moving to Providence in 1933, he was the son of the late Monaghan and Theresa (Mullen) Daly.</p> <p>Robert was a graduate of LaSalle Academy in 1944, and achieved an Associate Degree in Drafting from NE Technical Institute in 1947.<br /> <br /> Robert was a US Army WWII Veteran receiving the Bronze Battle Star at The Battle of the Bulge, a Purple Heart and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge.<br /> <br /> Robert was the owner of Dial Battery and Auto Supply of East Providence and United Auto and Paint Supply of Providence for many years before retiring.&nbsp; As a hobby, he built 3 homes in RI.<br /> <br /> He enjoyed bowling with The St. Augustine&rsquo;s Bowling League for many years, playing cards with Rita and their many friends, and was a major fan of all the Boston teams.&nbsp; Robert loved traveling around the globe, wintering in Bonita Springs, FL; while making many friends along the way. Always a loving and generous soul, and commonly quoted for saying &ldquo;never give up&rdquo;.<br /> <br /> He leaves three children, Richard Daly of Cheshire, CT, Joyce Pacitti of East Greenwich and Jean Volpe of Jamestown; five grandchildren, Alexander Daly, Amanda and Sarah Pacitti, Zachary and Brian Volpe; and one great grandchild, Brady James Volpe.<br /> <br /> His funeral will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 10 AM at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME &amp; Crematory- SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.&nbsp; VISITATION will be FRIDAY morning from 9-10 am.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.&nbsp;</p>
