Allen Ray Martel, 77, of Mena, Arkansas passed away, Saturday, September 11, 2021, at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Allen was born August 25, 1944, in Mamou, Louisiana to Edward Sr. and Oline (Vidrine) Martel. Allen is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Edward Martel, Jr., and Eward Martel; sisters, Helen Martel Zaunbrecher, Romola Martel Fontenol and late wife, Faye Martel. He is survived by his wife Darla Martel of Mena, Arkansas and sister Grace Burton of Eunice, Louisiana. He was a loving stepfather to Kim (Dan) Shipherd of Boise, Idaho, Jason (Shannon) Romero of Dexter, Maine, Jona Rogers of Mena, Arkansas. His special grandchildren: Nicholas Shipherd, Ashley Shipherd, Alex Romero, Payton Tomblin, and Beau Tomblin. Allen was a Merchant Marine and worker of the Carpenters Union local 501 in Texas. Allen liked building things and loved to cook his famous Louisiana Cajun food for family and friends. Funeral Services are pending.
