John Lewis Smith, age 58, of Maplewood, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at his residence.  He was born on October 3, 1962, in Sidney to the late Paul Junior and Lydia (Staley) Smith.  On April 5, 1981, he married Juanita (Bowman) Smith and she survives.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by two children: Sasha (Matt) Blake of Vero Beach, FL and John (Jennifer) Smith of Anna, OH; four grandchildren: Autum Gillem, Ashlynn Smith, Karmen Blake and Aliyah Smith; two great grandchildren: Johnnie Mangus and Jailynn Mangus; and four siblings: William Smith of Botkins, OH, Lori (Johnie) Miller of Williamsburg, KY, Frances (Don) Yantis of Sidney, OH and David (Sonja) Smith of Lafollette, TN.

John worked at Wagner for many years before it’s closing.  He attended the Church of God.  John was a loving and caring man and who would do anything for anyone.  John loved riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He loved well and was well loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by Adams Funeral Home in Sidney.
