Obituary

Courtney - Memorial Services for Mrs. Clara Louise (Dewbre) Brown are set for 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Courtney Methodist Church with Sherry Tadlock officiating.

Clara was born in Orr, OK on September 13, 1924 to the late Mr. Sylvester and Mrs. Nora Pearl Dewbre. She departed from this life on Sunday, August 15, 2021 in California.

When Clara was 12 years old, her family moved to California during the depression to find work. The first stop was at a government camp in Arizona. From 1936-1942, they followed the crops. They picked cotton and fruit and all kids of vegetables. Clara met and fell in love with her first and only love, Ottis Marvin Brown. They were married December 15, 1940. They were married 63 years. They were the perfect couple, but had a tough life. Between working all day, living in a tent, she gave birth to six children.

Around 1985, Clara and Ottis moved home to Petersburg, OK. There were retired and immediately fell right into the community. They enjoyed going to the community center for ice cream suppers, lots of dinners, Bingo games, and dominoes. They very seldom missed a Sunday Church service.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ottis M. Brown on March 9, 2003; four children, Betty Jo, Barbara Ann, Thomas Marvin, and Floyd Warren; brothers and sisters, Dorothy Pauline, Mamie Lorene, Joyce Colene, Raymond Sylvester, and Doyle Green.

Clara is survived by her two sons, David Neil and Paul Dee; one brother, Mitchell Ray; also by many, many friends, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

What a wonderful blessing, Clara is finally lying next to Ottis and they are in Heaven walking the streets of gold.
