Linda Susan Hoyt Obituary

Linda S. Hoyt, 70, of Columbia, CT passed away on September 11, 2021 peacefully but unexpectedly of natural causes. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Glenwood Hoyt, Sr. of 37 years.

She was born in Willimantic, CT, the daughter of the late William Bonafine and Shirley Kaminski.

Linda was employed as a machinist at Scott Electrokraft prior to her retirement. Linda and Glen loved camping seasonally where they spent many enjoyable summers. She enjoyed Saturday night dances with her friends, bird and deer watching, and gambling. She loved most of all to spend time with her grandchildren and they loved telling her about their day. Linda was always willing to listen to anyone, offer wise advice and find ways to help before being asked.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Shelley Dennis and her husband, Tim, with whom she made her home. She is also survived by her son, Glenwood Hoyt, Jr. and her grandchildren, Zackary, Ava and Dante Dennis. Also, her brother- in-law, Gale Hoyt and his wife, Pamela, with whom she and Glen were forever friends and her nephews, Matthew and Adam Hoyt. Brothers-in-law, Dennis Hoyt and his wife, Terry, and Thomas Hoyt and his wife, Sara; Sisters-in-law, Ellen Hanington and her husband, Larry, Nyoka Irish, Phyllis Macdonald and her husband, Douglas, Sharon Dumas and her husband, David, Roseann Crooks and her husband, Samuel, and Yvonne Solenski and her husband, Walter; many nieces and nephews; as well as many friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Sandra Nasin.
