Linda Sue Riley Obituary

Linda Sue Riley, 79 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Friday morning, September 10, 2021. She was born January 31, 1942 in Pickett County, Tennessee to Osborne and Edna Gunter Crouch of Moodyville. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sparta. Linda was married to her high school sweetheart for 45 years. They owned and operated AP Hayes grocery store together. She later retired from US Stamp. Linda's passion in life was caring for her daughter, Sheila Renee. Sheila's well-being was her primary focus and concern for 50 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Riley, daughter, Sheila Riley, brothers, Charles Crouch and Robbie Crouch, and sister-in-law, Audrey Riley Thompkins. Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include: Sons- Marty Riley (Melissa) of Cookeville, TN and Michael Riley (Kim) of Sparta, TN Sister- Janice Crouch of Cookeville, TN Brother- Steve Crouch (Cheryl) of Lafayette, TN Brother-in-Law- Frank Riley (Sue) of Muncie, IN Granddaughter- Madison Hampshire of Cookeville, TN Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Story Cemetery in Byrdstown, Tennessee. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers to serve- Cameron Howard, Dewayne Marcus, Darren Swindell, Chip Hall, Mark Sherrill, and Terry Langley In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to Story Cemetery Fund. Story Cemetery Fund People's Bank and Trust 19 Court House Square Byrdstown, TN 38549 Due to COVID, we ask that anyone who is currently sick or experiencing COVID sickness or symptoms to please not attend any visitations or services.
