Ms.Sonja Pulluaim Obituary

Sonja Renae Pulluaim, 51, passed away on September 10, 2021, at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Sonja was born on September 16, 1969, in Kansas City, Missouri to Joseph Oliver and Sarah Pulluaim Todd. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Geneva Pulluaim, grandfather, Willie Pulluaim Sr., biological father, Joseph Oliver, uncles, Curtis Lenard and Michael Pulluaim, aunt, Barbara Harris, brother, Kenyon Minor and her daughter, LaShawndra Pulluaim.

Sonja is survived by her mother, Sarah Todd (Rodney); father, Albert Williamson, Jr., and step-father, Brian McCord; her sisters, Sherri Fox (Parris), Sheanese "Neicy" Williamson, and LaRita Robinson (Victor); her brothers, Albert Williamson, III (Danita), Marvale Pulluaim, Anthony Mitchell, Joseph Morrison, Gerald Oliver and Kabrawn Minor; her children, KaSondra "Bunni" Pulluaim, Sonidra "Monae" Pulluaim, and Antwon Pulluaim; a special son, Darrien Bogle; her grandchildren, Giovontae Pulluaim, Ur’Majesty Pulluaim, Nevaeh Tolefree, Tre’Vontae Pulluaim, and Sa’Nayah Pulluaim, Kash Bogle, Dior Lebeau, a host of other relatives, friends, and Christian brothers and sisters.

Sonja was raised in Kansas City, where she attended school on both the Kansas and Missouri side. She attended Schlagle High School in Kansas City, Kansas until 1984. She later received her GED in 1995 and an Associate degree in Computer Science from Wright Business School shortly afterwards.

Sonja was affectionately known as Sunshine because she would brighten the mood of all she came in contact with. Sonja loved her family and she loved her friends, but most importantly, she loved her God, Jehovah. She dedicated her life to serving him and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 5, 2010. She attended the Keller Springs Congregation until 2019 and then moved to the Sandy Lake Congregation.

As one of Jehovah’s Witness, Sonja participated in the Christian ministry. Her favorite form of the ministry was informal witnessing, she would talk to anyone that would listen. But she also truly enjoyed door-to-door witnessing and serving in unassigned or seldom-worked territories. Most recently she participated in letter writing for the ministry. She had the privilege of serving as a Regular Pioneer for one year as her sister, Sherri's, pioneer partner and attended Pioneer Service School in 2013.

Sonja loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She truly cherished the relationship she had with them collectively and individually. She loved being a mother and grandmother, or "Beejah" as they called her.

Sonja enjoyed cooking, spending time with friends and family, listening to music, watching black and white classic movies, and playing dominoes. But her favorite pastime was playing Bid Whiz! She would bid a seven no trump without hesitation if she was dealt a good hand and would stand up to slap the cards on the table to let you know that "somebody is going to Boston"!

Sonja was a "cheerful giver". She would give to anyone in need whenever and whatever she could. Sonja also had a unique laugh that was infectious. It just made you smile. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her
