CAMPBELL, Mrs. Elizabeth “Bessie” (nee Kay)

Passed away peacefully at Fairhaven Long-Term Care Facility on Thursday, September 9, 2021, 5 days before her 107th birthday.  She was born in Glasgow Scotland on September 14, 1914 and immigrated to Canada in June of 1953 with her husband and 2 sons.   Elizabeth was the beloved wife of the late David Campbell (1996).  Loving mother of Robert and his wife Susan, Elizabeth and the late David and his wife Denise (surviving).  Cherished grandmother of Dan Campbell (Sonya), Colleen Stewart (John), Lynn Campbell (Brae Robertson), the late Kathleen Campbell (Howard Gibbs), Heather Silvestri, Sarah Enso-Sharp (Philip Enso-Halteman), Michael Barta (Natasha Pankhurst), the late Brian Barta, Braden Root-McCaig ( Aleka MacLennan )and Jared Root-McCaig. Sadly missed by her 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  She will be sadly missed by her friends Pat Leahy, and Maureen Young.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be a private graveside service held, and a Public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough.  In memory of Elizabeth, donations to the Five Counties Children Centre, the Peterborough Humane Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
