Debra Bell Prescott, 65, wife of Leonard Hodge “L.H.” Prescott, Jr., of Gable, SC, went to her Heavenly home on September 9, 2021. Debra was born February 19, 1956, in Sumter, SC to the late James Thomas “Tommy” Bell, Sr. and the late Ophelia Dickerson Bell Faltersack. She was a member of Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and in various other capacities. Debra is survived by her husband of 44 years; two sons, James F. Prescott (Robin) of Sumter, SC and Chris Prescott (Melissa) of Gable, SC; 3 grandchildren, Kasey Thomas Prescott, Andy Prescott, and Ellie Prescott; 3 step-granddaughters, Karen Brewton, Alexis McLeod, and Mia McLeod; four siblings; James T. Bell Jr, Katherine L. Boyd (David), Billy Bell (Martha), and Phil Martin all of Sumter SC; a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Bell of Sumter. A graveside service will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Brunson Cemetery with the Rev. Mel Thompson and the Rev. Jerry Watson officiating. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 140 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 210, Columbia, SC 29210 and to Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church, 1510 Plowden Mill Rd., Sumter, SC 29153. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
