Wilma Mae Robinson Waterville, Ohio Obituary

Wilma Mae Robinson

Wilma M. Robinson, longtime Waterville resident, and most recently of Kingston of Perrysburg, passed away September 12, 2021, at the age of 95. Wilma was born August 12, 1926, to Clarence and Margaret (Westenhuber) Schroeder. She graduated from the Office Practice class at Whitney Vocational High School in 1944, then worked as a secretary at Owens Illinois. Wilma met her husband, Marvin, on a blind date (arranged by her friend) and they married on October 21, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church in Waterville. They moved into the home Marvin built in Waterville, where they welcomed 3 children: David, Cathy and Judy. The family enjoyed weekend camping trips and traveling around the country, towing their little trailer to many wonderful national parks, historic sites, and beautiful scenic places. After her husband’s passing in 1971, Wilma began working for Ohio Bell Telephone Company, retiring in 1991. During retirement, Wilma enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, traveling, and yearly family vacations at Lakeside, Ohio. Wilma is survived by her children, David, Cathy (Tom) Myers, and Judy (Dennis) Batdorf; granddaughters, Shannon (Kurt) Buchwald, Heather (Jeremy) Anderson, Michelle (Brandon) Rankins, and Sarah (Joe) Betancourt; and great grandchildren Isabella, Oliver, Austin, Amelia, Lola, Ella and Emma. Besides her husband, Wilma was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Margie Lucas. Wilma’s legacy to her family will be her suggestion, many years ago, to gather the whole family at Lakeside, Ohio for a week of sun, fun and family togetherness. Thirty-two years later this remains a cherished family tradition for all generations. The family will receive guests Friday, September 17, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Peinert- Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd., Waterville, OH. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home with burial immediately after at Wakeman Cemetery in Waterville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be given in Wilma’s memory to the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation, 236 Walnut Ave. Lakeside, Ohio 43440. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Kingston Residential in Perrysburg for all their care and compassion shown to Wilma over the last 2 ½ years.
