Margie Deck

Nettie Marguerita “Margie” Moyers Deck, was born July 11, 1922, at Marquand, MO. She went to be with the Lord, and her husband Walter on September 10, 2021, at the age of 99 years. Her Parents were James Harley Moyers, and Stella Mae Combs Moyers. Margie was the second of five children. Her parents, and older brother Burl, and three younger sisters Fern, Pauline, and Cassie, all predeceased her. She attended Mouser School, a one room schoolhouse through eighth grade before graduating from Marquand High School in 1938. She passed her teachers exams, and planned to continue her education, and become a teacher. These plans became less important when she met Walter I. Deck of Glen Allen, MO. On November 30, 1939, Walter and Margie were married at Centerville, MO. Margie served as camp secretary for Modern Woodman, the insurance Walter sold for many years, and as a bookkeeper for the many business’ ventures Walter ran. She also served as a faithful, loving preachers’ wife over the years. They shared 57 years together as husband and wife, before God called Walter home on January 8, 1997. She was predeceased by a daughter Margie Francis who died at birth. She is survived by three children: Ronnie (Shirley) Deck, Bob Deck, and a daughter Ruthie Deck (Paul) Burkman. She has five grandchildren, Rhonda (Keith) Beel, Chris (Young Jie) Deck, Robin (Shawn) Brazel, Danny (Kristen) Deck, Matt Burkman, and eleven great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the care of Liley Funeral Homes.
