George W. Lewis

<p>George Washington Lewis, Jr., age 74 of Marion, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Heartland of Marion. On October 30, 1946, he was born in Galion, Ohio, to the late George Lewis, Sr., and Edna (Stander) Lewis, and on July 7, 1986, he married his late wife Linda (Dean).</p> <p>George worked in construction for over 30 years, and he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing and squirrel hunting, as well as playing Bingo and watching westerns. His other hobbies included working on cars and gardening. Above all else, he loved his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He will always be their Superman.</p> <p>He is survived by his daughters Lisa Lewis, Jennie (Allen) Mofford, and Stacee (Tom) Alberty; his sisters Grace Lawhun, Charlotte Cooper, Betty Sherman, and Rosemary Butler; his brothers Eddie and Roger Lewis; his grandchildren Christopher Davis, Jodi (Gary McKinney, Jr.) Lewis, Kaeley Davis, Brandon (Tiffany) Lewis, Eric Witten, and Nicholas Pierce; his great-grandchildren Kiley Davis, Madison Davis, Ashlyn Davis, Landon Muhr, Brayden Muhr, Zayden Muhr, Mariah Witten, Stevie Witten, Nora Laub, Elena Kegley, Reighlynn Lewis, and Carson Witten, as well as one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved very much.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his wife Linda, his parents George and Edna, his brothers Ted and Don Lewis, his great-grandson Carson, and his nephew Donnie Ray Lewis.</p> <p>Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 10 am to 12 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. Services will take place at 12 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.</p>
