Jacqueline “Jackie” Rae Garcia, 83, of Hastings, passed away Friday at Upstate Community Hospital. She was a graduate of Solvay High School and of the College of Nursing at Crouse Hospital. She was also a proud employee of the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department for two years. Jackie was a communicant of St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church and loved coloring, baking, cooking, and playing solitaire. Above all Jackie loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother, yiayia, g.g., and nana. She was predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Violet Darling; siblings, Lorraine Colapaolo, William Darling and son, Richard Rolince. Surviving are her children, Suzanne (Pat) Kane, Shelly (Victor) Gonzalez, Stephanie (Robert) Wucher, Samantha (Chris) Garcia and Sam (Joelle) Garcia; brother, Michael Darling; daughter-in-law, Christine Rolince; grandchildren, Adam, Steven, Nicole, Izabele, Megan, Ashley, Nikos, Miabella, Gianni, Robbie and Karleigh and Heather; great-grandchildren, Ella, Adrianna, Jett, Ryan, Avery, Dylan, Matthew, Charlotte, Lorenza, Zander, Ryan W., Mikayla, and McKenna. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, September 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at noon. Jackie will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
