Dorothy Claire Goesch Obituary

Dorothy Claire Braaten-Goesch age 92, was born December 15, 1928 in Pickert, North Dakota. Died September 8, 2021 in Brentwood, California. 

 

Dorothy's husband, Gerald William Goesch passed away December 4, 2019. 

She is survived by her 4 children: daughters, Kathleen Claire Goesch-Burton, Janet Eileen Hammack, Leslie Maureen Patterson and 1 son Terrence William Goesch. Sons-in-law Randy Burton, Michael Hammack, John Patterson. Daughter-in-law Janice Goesch.

 

10 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

 

Dorothy is also survived by 8 nieces and 6 nephews.

 

Dorothy was the 4th child born to Milo and Bessie Braaten. Sisters, Adele, Louise, Marvel. Brothers Don and Mike who have all preceded her in death. 

 

Dorothy and her family moved at the age of 8 from North Dakota to California in 1936. They settled in Oakland, California then moved later to Waterford, California where Dorothy graduated from Hughson High School in 1947. 

 

Dorothy worked various office jobs: De Martini's, American Standard, Concord Airport, Penney's, Singers, Mervyns and most importantly, her job as a stay-at-home Mom. She had many talents over the years: she enjoyed; sewing, photography, poetry, singing,  raising Yorkshire Terriers and spending time with her children and especially videotaping her Grandchildren. 

 

Dorothy married her classmate Gerald William Goesch in 1951, they moved to Richmond, California in 1952. 

 

They raised their 4 children in Martinez, California where they lived for 47 1/2 years. 

 

Dorothy and Gerald then moved to Brentwood, California in 2003.
