<p>Jo A. &ldquo;Poe&rdquo; Pratt, 59, of Kalona, died Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Washington County Hospital following a lengthy illness. A visitation will be held Monday, September 13, 2021, from 5 &ndash; 7 PM, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children&rsquo;s Hospital.</p> <p>Jo A. &ldquo;Poe&rdquo; Pratt was born August 22, 1962, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of David K. and Kay E. (Mangold) White. She was united in marriage to Doug Pratt on July 13, 1992, in Washington. Poe was a stay-at-home mom, caretaker, and babysitter. She also worked at the Washington YMCA in housekeeping. She was baptized at the Brighton Community Church and enjoyed racing, reading Amish books, music, waterfalls, watching eagles, and spending time with the grandbabies.</p> <p>Survivors include her husband Doug of Kalona, two sons: Ryan Wolcott of Central City, Stacy (Erin) Wolcott of Kalona, three grandchildren: Keaton, Kamden and Kylie Wolcott, and one sister Sherry &ldquo;Kayla&rdquo; Swailes of West Chester.</p> <p>Preceding Poe in death were her parents, Paul and Kay Johnson, in-laws Duwayne and Rosemary Pratt, grandparents Stanley and Betty Mangold, brother-in-law Bruce Swailes, brother Jim White, nephew Ryan Shafer and two uncles: Richard and Bill Mangold.</p>

Jo A. “Poe” Pratt was born August 22, 1962, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of David K. and Kay E. (Mangold) White. She was united in marriage to Doug Pratt on July 13, 1992, in Washington.
