Jean Moritz

<p>Moritz, Jean W. (nee Jean D. Wendlandt), passed peacefully </p><p>to the Lord Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Saint Louis. </p><p>Jean was born April 26, 1921 in Bemidji, Minnesota, </p><p>graduated from Drake University 1943 member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and served in the USO in the South Pacific 1944-1945. She was a teacher in the Mehlville and Afton schools, and a member of the D.A.R. Olde Towne Fenton chapter. She taught Sunday school in Ladysmith, WI and was proud to be a member of Concord Trinity United Methodist Church in St. Louis. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Donald and her son </p><p>Michael, and is survived by her loving children, son Richard </p><p>Moritz of Kapaa, HI, and daughter Martha Muntz of Huntsville, ON, grandchildren Susanna Muntz, Kurt Muntz and Jennifer Posti, and great-grandchildren Annika Posti, Toby Posti, Tashi Muntz, Layla Muntz and Amia Muntz. Jean's first husband, Lt. Robert Johann U.S. Army, was killed at the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Jean and Don were married in 1946, started their family in </p><p>1950 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, and raised their children there and </p><p>in Edina, Minnesota, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and finally Saint </p><p>Louis. They loved and cared for each other through 52 years </p><p>of marriage. Jean was ever loyal and loving to her children and </p><p>was always there when they needed her. She was especially fond of summer vacations at the family cottage at Bay Lake, Minnesota where many treasured memories were made, and she loved a rousing game of bridge. She enjoyed helping others, loved dogs and cats, and is remembered for her wonderful stories. A Memorial Service will be held in Saint Louis at Concord Trinity </p><p>United Methodist Church 5275 S. Lindbergh Blvd., at 2:00PM, </p><p>Monday, 2 November. The Interment Service will be held at Fort </p><p>Snelling National Cemetery, Minnesota, 1:05PM, Wednesday, 4 </p><p>November. Memorials to the Peregrine Society of St. Louis or </p><p>Concord Trinity Memorial Fund.
