It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Redd Pierce announce her passing on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Nashville at the age of ninety-six. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Elizabeth Gregory (Duke) of Brentwood and John David Pierce, Sr. (Jing) of Lewisburg; her grandchildren: John Cole of Nashville, John David Pierce, Jr. (Donna) of Lewisburg, Elizabeth Lipa (Stephen) of College Grove and Andrew Pierce (Pam) of Lewisburg; and her great-­grandchildren: Ashton Cox, Laura Pierce, Lauren Lipa, Grace Lipa, Corinne Cole, Stephen Lipa, Jr. and Addison Lipa. Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her husband, John Ivy Pierce, Jr.; her son, John Ivy Pierce, III; her six siblings; and her parents: Lee Athel Redd and Bessie Wagster Redd. Mrs. Pierce was a native of Moore County and a sixth generation Tennessean. She eventually settled in Lewisburg with her husband, John, where they raised their family. Grace was a devout Christian and long-­‐time member of First Baptist Church in Lewisburg where she sang in the choir and prepared flower arrangements for worship services. She later joined Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood where she enjoyed the senior life groups and participating in the community garden. Grace and John Pierce were entrepreneurs having businesses in real estate, retail, farming and the auction industry. Grace took great pleasure in growing flowers and vegetables, antique shopping, baking pies, birdwatching, talking with her dear friend, Mrs. Robby Moss, and spending time with all of her grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Pierce enjoyed fifty‐two years of marriage together after being wed on Christmas Eve. Grace Pierce was a warm, caring, gentle lady whose memory will be cherished. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 20 th at Brentwood Baptist Church, 7777 Concord Road, Brentwood. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Brentwood Baptist Church Atrium. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Nashville Rescue Mission, Brentwood Baptist Church or First Baptist Church of Lewisburg.
