Carolyn Sue Hill

Carolyn Sue Hill was born November 25, 1959 in Dallas, Texas. She went to be with her Lord on September 10, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Chandler Sparks; mother, Ruby Nell Sparks; and brother, Martin David Sparks. She is survived by her husband of forty-one years, Mike; brothers Eddie Sparks and wife, Barbara; Daryl Sparks; sisters Linda Crowell and husband, Danny; Ellen Otter and husband, Dennis; Channie Modica; and nieces and nephews Lisa Bosarge and Chris Crowell; Stephanie Callaway and Kevin Otter; Regina Davidson and Michael Sparks; and Sammi Gamero, Chance Modica, and Johnathan Modica. She is also lovingly remembered by her many friends and colleagues. Carolyn was a Registered Nurse in Dallas for over forty years. She began her career at Doctor’s Hospital, and then worked at Methodist Medical Center, Baylor University Medical Center, U.T. Southwestern, and Presbyterian Dallas, among others. She started in oncology, and later spent many years as a labor and delivery nurse. She finished her career working in assisted reproductive technology and women’s health. Her colleagues remember her as hard-working, kind, and compassionate. She always took the time to really listen to and respond to the needs of her patients. Carolyn loved to spend time with her extended family. She always looked forward to birthdays and holiday celebrations, and enjoyed the occasions when she was able to host these in her home. Carolyn and Mike were married on July 19, 1980. Carolyn was 20, and Mike was 19. Over the next forty-one years, they built a wonderful life together. They were deeply in love, and enjoyed more than anything just being with each other, no matter what they were doing. Carolyn was a kind, gentle, and encouraging woman who expressed her faith in God through her love for her husband, family, friends, co-workers, and those she cared for. She will be missed by all who loved her. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home located at 12649 Lake June Road, Mesquite, Texas 75180. The service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Jones Doughton officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery near Scroggins, Texas. The family plans to arrive at the graveside about 1:30 p.m. for those who wish to participate in the committal ceremony. Laurel Oaks Funeral Home is honored to serve this family.
