<p>Delbert D. &ldquo;Del&rdquo; Howman, 86, of Ashland, died Friday, September 10, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.</p> <p>Del was born August 23, 1935 in Richland County, Ohio to Leroy and Nellie {Myers} Howman.&nbsp; He grew up in a family of fourteen.</p> <p>Del graduated from Ashland High School, then began working at both Union Malleable and Fisher Body, before joining the United States Army.</p> <p>He married Susan Miller on September 15, 1962.&nbsp; Upon his return he went back to working at Fisher Body.&nbsp; He was a member of Southview Grace Brethren Church. Del loved to fish; in fact, he was known as &ldquo;Grandpa Fish&rdquo; to his grandchildren. He also loved to refinish furniture and was an all-around handyman.</p> <p>Del will be deeply missed by his wife Susan; sons Roy (Shelli) Howman, and Joel (Caitlin) Howman; grandchildren Tom (Christina) Howman, Chelsi (Cody) Hickey; Noah Howman, and Alana Howman; great-grandchildren Cambri, Mayla, Barrett, and Everette; brother Roger Howman; as well as many nieces, and nephews.</p> <p>Del was preceded in death by twelve siblings.</p> <p>Viewing and services will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday at Southview Grace Brethren Church 810 Katherine Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805.&nbsp; Pastor Mark Abel will conduct services at 11 a.m. where military rites will be held. Delbert D. “Del” Howman, 86, of Ashland, died Friday, September 10, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Del was born August 23, 1935 in Richland County, Ohio to Leroy and Nellie {Myers} Howman.  He grew up in a family of fourteen.

Del graduated from Ashland High School, then began working at both Union Malleable and Fisher Body, before joining the United States Army.

He married Susan Miller on September 15, 1962.  Upon his return he went back to working at Fisher Body.  He was a member of Southview Grace Brethren Church.
