James Ronald Rankin

James Ronald Rankin, Jr. (JR) of Shively, 60, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at U of L Mary and Elizabeth Hospital at 12:20pm. He was born to the late James R. Rankin, Sr and Violet M. Rankin (Baugh) on April 13, 1961. JR was hard-headed, but had a heart of gold when it came to his family. He was a hard worker and a dedicated husband, father, and cherished every moment with his grandchildren and great-grandchild whether it was at a baseball/softball game, horse competition, cross country meet or just at home baby-sitting. He is survived by his wife, Vickie; sister, Janet (Bryan); children, Sheryl (Trap), Valorie (Josh), Alisha (Gary), Travis; grandchildren, Autumn, Tatum, Maya, Leland, Skyler, Wyatt, Gavin, Cayleb and his great-grandchild, Nova. Memorial visitation will be held 2:00pm – 8:00pm Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Ratterman Southwest Funeral Home, 4832 Cane Run Road.
