Charley William O'Dell Obituary

Charley William O’Dell, Jr., passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at his home in Pawhuska, OK.  He was 63 years old.

 

Charley was born December 2, 1957 in Blackwell, OK the son of Charley William O’Dell, Sr., and Ursula Audene (Teuscher) O’Dell.  Charley enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on the 3rd day of January, 1977.  He was trained and served as an armorer until his discharge on April 29, 1983.  Following his military service, Charley worked in security for Ponca City High School, then as a prison guard for multiple prisons.  He then went to work as a security supervisor in many casinos.  The last 8 years, Charley worked at the Osage Casino in Pawhuska where he was very highly respected and loved by all.  On June 4, 2011, he married the former Raylene Carter in Shawnee, OK.

 

Surviving is his wife, Raylene O’Dell; children Johnathan Knepper, Lori Navarette, Brian O’Dell, Amy Chandler, Robbie Rikard, Anthony R. Jackson, Rebecca Jones and Amber Hall; grandchildren Kristen Knepper, Brittanee Knepper; Braydn, Lundyn, Tayln and Keighyn Lute; Aidynn Navarette; Constance O'Dell and Maddox O'Dell; Drake, Dylan and Desi Rikard; Ryleigh, Bryson, Anthony, Rayleigh, Serinity and Blakely Jackson; Ethan and Kambrie Jones; Anthony and Austin Hall; Kaitlyn, Wade, Paisley, Ambrosia and George Conner; brothers and sisters Ava West, Jan Brookshire, Kathryn Green, Mary Wilson, Frank O’Dell, Clarence O’Dell; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

Charley was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lisa Kay O’Dell.

 

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 18, 11:00AM, at the Calvary Baptist Church, Pawhuska.  Rev. Justin Turney will officiate.
