Serge Paul Blanchet March 15, 1953 – September 6, 2021 It is with great sadness that the family of Serge Paul Blanchet, announce his passing on Monday, September 6, 2021 at the age of 68. Serge was born in Saint-Pamphile, Quebec, to Simone and Paul on Mar 15, 1953. Serge came to Fox Creek, Alberta at age 19 to join his brother Marcel to work in the oilpatch where he began a long career as a B Pressure Welder. In 1987 Serge moved his family to Drayton valley where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a hard-working man who loved his family, friends, horses, fishing and time spent in the great outdoors. He was a proud father and probably an even more proud grandfather! He sure loved his boys! He was a complex man who lived a simple life. He never required much and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. While he was caring and compassionate he was also stubborn and fierce. He will be lovingly remembered by his partner Francine Drolet; Son Dominic Blanchet; Daughter Chantal (Tony) Gwin; Grandsons Keenan and Tanner Gwin; Sisters Rene Bahrij, Denise (Marcel) Goupil, and France (Alain) Andersen; Francine’s son Sylvain Boutet, and many nieces and nephews, loving relatives and friends. Serge was predeceased by his parents Paul and Simone Blanchet; brothers Alain, Claude and Marcel Blanchet and sister Lise Blanchet. A Memorial service for Sept 17, 2021 has been CANCELLED.
